Summary
Confidential Client is seeking a Field Service Engineer 1 to perform preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs on medical equipment for hospitals and healthcare systems serving the Salt Lake City, UT region. This position typically follows a 2nd-shift schedule (approximately 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM), is full-time and contractor-classified, and offers relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
- Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs on medical equipment to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through clear, timely communication and proper follow-up.
- Document all work performed, order replacement parts as needed, and follow hospital protocols and company procedures to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Support after-hours response and participate in a rotating on-call schedule when required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in a formal biomed/field-engineer internship, apprenticeship, or externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 4 years servicing electronic equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted and perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, sitting and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to reach above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and demonstrate fine hand/finger dexterity.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Availability for after-hours work, rotating on-call shifts, and occasional weekend assignments.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; Confidential Client will not sponsor employment visas for this opening.
Desired Qualifications
- Willingness to work 2nd shift preferred.
- Prior experience servicing hospital-grade imaging or life‑support equipment is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation and clear technical communication skills.
