Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Field Health & Safety Specialist to join their Health & Safety team. This is a full-time, field-facing role based in Edgewater, CO with nationwide responsibilities. The role requires regular travel (up to 75%) to client sites and job locations across the contiguous United States. Candidates must live within 60 miles of a Large Hub/Core Airport (see list below). Compensation is listed at $64,000 per year (pay commensurate with experience).


What You’ll Do

  • Review accident and incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Advise crews and supervisors on safety topics including noise control and safe machinery use.
  • Organize and support company-wide annual safety training.
  • Coordinate with the Health & Safety Manager to plan and deliver field training sessions.
  • Conduct field risk assessments and train crews on prevention measures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely internal and external safety reporting.
  • Stay current on company safety policies, OSHA standards, and applicable regulations.

Incident Review & Field Implementation

  • Participate as a member of the Incident Review Team to analyze injuries, near misses, property damage, and vehicle incidents.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and principals to determine and implement corrective actions.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and complete safety projects consistent with corporate policy.
  • Develop and track leading and lagging safety metrics.
  • Direct HSE auditing processes including inspections and data analysis.
  • Conduct behavior-based safety observations and site safety inspections.
  • Lead and coordinate on-site emergency response efforts.

Auto Safety Support

  • Review Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans (SSHSPs) and Pre-Job Hazard Analyses (PJHAs).
  • Monitor GPS/telematics data and advise on corrective actions when driver or vehicle safety scores indicate concern.
  • Create or update safety briefings based on observed incidents and trends.
  • Track incident metrics and prepare compliance reports (Incident Rates, DART, EMR, etc.).

Health & Safety Liaison

  • Report safety committee highlights, initiatives, and YTD incident statistics at monthly Senior Project Manager meetings.
  • Present H&S topics and data at Principal meetings as requested.
  • Serve as a resource for employee safety questions and concerns.
  • Support and consult on medical surveillance and auto insurance best practices.
  • Develop practical safety best practices and measurable goals.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% and work in remote areas.
  • Must live within 60 miles of a Large Hub/Core Airport in the contiguous U.S. (examples below).
  • Able to work with minimal supervision; strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor field personnel.

Preferred:

  • 1–2 years of progressive environmental, industrial, or construction health and safety experience.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.

Compensation & Location Requirements

  • Base salary: $64,000 per year (pay commensurate with experience).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Travel: Up to 75% nationwide.
  • Location requirement: Must live within 60 miles of a Large Hub/Core Airport in the contiguous U.S. (examples include ATL, BNA, BOS, CLT, DCA, DEN, DFW, DTW, IAH, JFK, LAX, MIA, MSP, ORD, PHL, PHX, SEA, SFO, SLC).
