Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Construction Field GIS Coordinator (Levels I & II) to support solar construction projects across New Mexico (priority) and Texas (secondary). This field-facing, regional role is part of the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team and will drive GIS standardization, training, and deployment to support project delivery. Relocation assistance to New Mexico will be provided for priority candidates. This is not a remote-first role; regular on-site presence and frequent travel to project sites are expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the GIS subject-matter expert (SME) for solar field and design teams in the region.
• Plan, implement, and coordinate GIS processes and workflows using ArcGIS platforms and related tools.
• Standardize ArcGIS implementations across projects and support ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise/Portal, Field apps, Dashboards, and Experience Builder.
• Support field workflows such as material distribution tracking, QA/QC, permitting, and POD/POND dashboards (Plan of Day / Plan of Next Day).
• Train and support design and field staff to adopt GIS best practices and tools.
• Participate on 2–6 regional projects at a time; provide daily on-site support with a possible hybrid arrangement (~80% on-site / ~20% remote) when agreed.
• Document and update GIS-related processes and contribute to VDC E&I integration and Project Execution Plans (PXP).
• Accept direction from supervisors, seek constructive feedback, and partner effectively with other Solar team members and cross-functional groups (E&I, Lean, Industrialization).

Location & Travel

• Priority location: New Mexico (must be willing to relocate; relocation assistance available).
• Secondary location: Texas (as needed).
• Regional role supporting New Mexico/Texas with frequent travel to project sites. Candidates should expect regular on-site presence; rotation schedules may be considered.

Qualifications

• GIS experience (construction or non-construction backgrounds accepted).
• Beginner to intermediate-level experience training or mentoring others in GIS software.
• Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise/Portal, Field Data Collection apps, Dashboards, Experience Builder). Autodesk AutoCAD collaboration experience preferred.
• Experience with GIS data management, spatial analysis, geoprocessing, data QA/QC, and systems implementation planning.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant web/project applications.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to sites.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Level-specific Minimum Qualifications & Pay

Construction Field GIS Coordinator I

• Minimum: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
• Prior related internship or entry-level experience.
• Base pay range: $76,600 - $95,800 per year.

Construction Field GIS Coordinator II

• Minimum: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Base pay range: $89,500 - $120,800 per year.

Notes

• Base pay is positioned within the range based on experience, skills, and internal equity. This position is eligible for the client’s incentive plan.
• Actual ranges may be higher for certain office locations per the client’s policy (not applicable to New Mexico unless specified).
