What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Field Facilities Professional to support facility condition assessments, inspections, and repair/restoration recommendations across building systems and infrastructure. This hands-on role provides field experience with routine projects and exposure to increasingly complex assignments in facilities and construction environments.

  • Assist with facility condition assessments and field inspections for buildings, roofs, facades, plaza decks, below-grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, and industrial floors
  • Perform visual examinations and assist with non-destructive testing, instrumentation/load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations as required
  • Collect field data and document findings clearly and accurately
  • Assist with preparation of reports of findings, recommendations, plans, specifications, and basic calculations
  • Support development of restoration design documents and construction oversight as project scope requires
  • Participate in contract administration tasks for small-to-medium projects under supervision
  • Follow all site safety procedures, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety concerns
  • Maintain quality standards on assigned projects and escalate issues to project leads

Responsibilities

  • Work primarily on smaller or routine projects while gaining exposure to larger, more complex scopes
  • Assist senior staff in assessments, testing, and technical reporting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation (field notes, photographs, test logs)
  • Coordinate logistics for fieldwork (site access, equipment, sample handling)
  • Communicate findings professionally to project teams and clients under supervision

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering, construction management, or a related building field and up to 5 years’ experience in facility assessment; OR 4–9 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history
  • Ability to perform physical site work and travel to field locations as required
  • Strong attention to detail and basic technical writing skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods, instrumentation/load testing, and laboratory testing procedures
  • Experience or coursework related to building envelopes, structural systems, waterproofing, roof systems, façades, MEP basics, pavements, or construction materials
  • Ability to prepare clear field reports and assist in developing repair recommendations and design documentation
  • Basic understanding of contract administration and construction oversight processes
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and quality standards

Compensation & Schedule

  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Estimated base salary: $58,408 per year (estimated) — actual compensation may vary based on experience and location.
  • Typical schedule: Full-time, field-based schedule with on-site visits; travel within the local region may be required.

Location & Travel

  • This position is based in Nashville, TN. Fieldwork and project sites will primarily be in the surrounding region. Candidates must be able to travel to client sites and work outdoors when needed.
