What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Field Engineer to perform hands-on field inspection and materials testing for construction projects in Paw Creek, NC. You will work on-site to verify conformance to plans and specifications and support project teams with accurate documentation and testing data.
- Perform observations and testing of construction materials (concrete sampling and testing, nuclear moisture-density testing, reinforcing steel observation, etc.) to confirm conformance with plans and specifications
- Prepare and submit daily field reports and data sheets summarizing activities and test results
- Perform basic engineering calculations under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer
- Support project managers by maintaining objectives, initiatives, and overall project goals
- Assist with more complex observation and inspection duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 0–2 years of geotechnical or construction materials field experience (internships and co-ops acceptable)
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license required
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, team-oriented field environments with strong communication skills
Required Certifications (or ability to obtain)
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician — Grade I (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Radiation Safety / Nuclear Density Gauge training (Troxler, CPN, Instrotek) or ability to obtain
- North Carolina Department of Transportation testing certifications or ability to obtain

Working Conditions & Additional Requirements
- This is a full-time, on-site field role based in Paw Creek, NC. Occasional travel and occasional night work may be required.
- Candidates must successfully complete employment reference checks, verification of education/licensure, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a background check as part of the hiring process.
