Confidential client is hiring a Field Engineer to support heavy civil construction and highway maintenance projects in Highland Park, TX (Dallas–Fort Worth area). This entry-level role is ideal for recent engineering graduates who want hands‑on experience in field operations, production tracking, quality control, and project documentation.
Key Details
- Employment type: Contract, Full time
- Location: Highland Park, TX (work at project sites within the Dallas–Fort Worth area)
- Starting salary: Starting at $75,000 annually (as listed by client)
- Travel: Regular travel to project sites required
- Sponsorship: No visa sponsorship available now or in the future
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Support quality control to ensure work meets project specifications
- Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and survey needs for field crews
- Track daily and weekly production via quantity reporting and timecard review
- Perform quantity takeoffs and measure completed work
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and owner representatives
- Prepare and maintain three‑week look‑ahead schedules
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and documentation
- Maintain accurate project records and reports
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering degree required
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team environment
- Previous internship or construction experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to travel to project sites and work days, nights, or weekends based on project needs
