Field Engineer
The Field Engineer at Confidential Client is responsible for evaluating construction plans, reviewing shop drawings, measuring work quantities, and assisting with project scheduling in a heavy civil construction environment. What You’ll Do
- Evaluate and analyze construction plans and shop drawing submittals.
- Measure and track quantities of work in place; maintain accurate project records.
- Apply engineering knowledge to standard and nonstandard field situations.
- Assist with creation and maintenance of functional project schedules to meet deadlines.
- Solve moderately complex problems and support site teams to maintain progress.
- Follow safety protocols, perform visual spot checks (e.g., backup spotting), and respond to jobsite alarms.
- Perform field tasks that may include lifting, standing for extended periods, walking, climbing and bending under variable conditions.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or environmental engineering.
- 1–3 years of experience, internships, or co-op experience in a heavy civil or construction environment.
- Working knowledge of construction plans, shop drawings, and quantity measurement.
- Basic knowledge of business concepts and accounting related to construction projects.
- Proficient computer skills (project documentation, basic scheduling, spreadsheets).
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and effective communication/teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range (Field Engineer I): $53,600 - $90,000 per year.
- Competitive wage commensurate with experience.

- Actual compensation may vary by experience, education, certifications, overtime eligibility, and local market factors.
