Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Field Engineer to provide on-site engineering support for complex nuclear construction projects. This entry-level/full-time role supports construction supervision, quality assurance, technical submittals, and configuration management. Estimated pay: $107,677 per year (estimated).
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical support across estimating, construction formation, project execution, testing/inspection, and project closeout
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications; adjust designs to meet site conditions per protocol
- Perform quality inspections and verify work in progress meets safety, security, technical, environmental and schedule requirements
- Maintain records of installed quantities and completed construction work
- Monitor and manage technical submittals and configuration management activities
- Assist in preparing procedures, administrative and technical documents
- Prepare or approve purchase requisitions for materials and services as needed
- Collaborate on Lessons Learned and coordinate with corporate personnel and partner project teams
- Make field-level decisions regarding methods and, with Construction Managers, apply financial commitment authority for field changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Able to read and interpret engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with management, designers, craft personnel, and clients
- Demonstrated aptitude for field verification of construction work and enforcement of codes, standards, and drawings
- Collaborative problem-solver who can act as liaison between design engineers and construction teams
- Knowledge of construction engineering principles and safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to getting the job done correctly
Location & Travel
- Authoritative location: Dunbarton, SC
- Projects and offices may be assigned across the U.S.; candidates must be willing to travel and relocate as necessary
- Role may rotate between field and office work depending on project needs
Requirements & Clearances
- Eligibility for this position requires sole U.S. citizenship; candidates must provide proof of citizenship for site badge access
- Candidates must complete a security questionnaire and clear site access requirements
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance if required for assignment
- All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment
- Regular, reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime or weekends as required
