Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer based in Cupertino, CA. This is an early-career position that serves as a pathway into project management within construction and engineering projects across commercial, advanced technology, and industrial market sectors. The role combines office-based planning with on-site coordination to ensure projects are completed safely, to schedule, and to quality standards.


What You’ll Do

You will support project planning and execution for assigned scopes of work, coordinate with field crews and subcontractors, and help maintain project controls and documentation.

  • Learn, follow, and promote site safety policies and protocols
  • Review construction drawings and compile project scope and quantities
  • Resolve engineering questions by communicating with design engineers, owner reps, and team members
  • Monitor field construction for compliance with plans and specifications
  • Participate in work sequence planning
  • Prepare and monitor work packages, including labor and cost estimates
  • Track construction progress and provide weekly status updates
  • Organize project records in an effective document-control system
  • Estimate future work and resource needs
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; intermediate Excel skills preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication with suppliers, field crews, designers, and owners
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and works well in teams
  • Highly organized with strong time-management and prioritization skills
  • Interest in LEAN construction principles and continuous improvement
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic construction familiarity
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to other regions as needed

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering — or equivalent education/experience
  • Internship experience in construction or engineering preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,000 to $85,000 per year
