What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Field Engineer to support on-site project delivery and construction administration in Castle Hills, TX. This role assists Project Managers and Superintendents with technical and administrative tasks to keep projects on schedule, on budget, and built to specification.

  • Support project teams by maintaining accurate construction documentation (drawings, specs, transmittals, submittals, RFIs, change notices).
  • Track project progress in logs and databases; help update short-term and overall schedules.
  • Review subcontract and purchase order documents for scope and accuracy.
  • Attend project meetings and represent the confidential client as needed.
  • Support site activities including material handling, inspections, punch lists, quality reviews, and safety observations.
  • Assist survey/layout teams with establishing grid lines, elevation controls and control points.
  • Help obtain permits and ensure record documents (as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties) are collected and organized.
  • Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Review project documents and coordinate with Architects, Owners, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Track submittals from pre-approval through final delivery; verify materials meet schedule requirements.
  • Make regular site visits to observe work quality and schedule adherence.
  • Maintain daily records, timesheets and support payroll/prevailing wage documentation when required.
  • Receive and route correspondence; ensure timely responses to requests for information.
  • Maintain complete, well-organized project files to preserve a clear project history.
  • Assist with logistics and coordination for materials and on-site equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience.
  • 0–2 years construction management or trades experience (entry-level).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and basic algebra as applied to construction layout and surveying.
  • Proficient with standard office software and construction documentation tools.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and escalate issues appropriately.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling and other physical activities typical of a construction environment.
  • Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be exposed to loud noise, moving machinery, heights, confined spaces, fumes, dust and outdoor weather conditions.
  • May be required to work extended hours during project-critical phases.

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Estimated pay (from source): $51,469 per year (estimated). Exact compensation and benefits will be shared by Confidential Client during the hiring process and will comply with applicable state laws.
