Summary

Confidential Client is seeking early-career Field Engineers to join its Transportation/Transit teams supporting transit, light rail and data-center infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, entry-level role that will require travel and relocation as project needs dictate. Candidates should have a construction or engineering degree and a willingness to work in the field and the office.


What You’ll Do

  • Support field operations by interpreting drawings and specifications for crews and craft.
  • Prepare work plans, work packages and order/schedule materials.
  • Coordinate equipment and logistics for field crews and assist in field inspections.
  • Perform office engineering tasks: takeoffs, assist with change order pricing, prepare required submittals and documentation.
  • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations when required.
  • Support project controls, engineering interface, purchasing and scheduling functions.
  • Assist project management with expediting material deliveries, estimating and processing change orders, and preparing monthly billings and progress estimates.
  • Participate in project meetings; contribute status updates and technical input.
  • May serve as a discipline engineer or lead small projects and may share superintendent responsibilities on small operations/crews.

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–3 years construction experience preferred; Infrastructure / Heavy Civil experience is a plus.
  • Able and willing to travel and relocate initially and throughout your career based on project needs.
  • Strong work ethic — prepared to work more than 40 hours/week and during non-standard hours (nights/weekends) when required.
  • Leadership experience and demonstrated initiative.
  • Comfortable accessing all points of a construction site in varied climates and conditions.
  • Highly motivated, accountable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Committed to ethics, stewardship, integrity, and safety.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; team player able to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Additional Requirements & Work Conditions

  • Regular, reliable attendance and timely completion of assignments.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including safety protocols and equipment use.
  • May work at varying project locations and jobsite conditions (FIELD ROLES ONLY).
  • This role may require overtime and weekend work depending on project schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Compensation: $79,000/yr - $87,000/yr (actual pay may vary based on education, experience, skillset, and location).

Location & Relocation

Job assignments are project-based and locations will be determined closer to the start date. Candidates must be willing to relocate initially and throughout their career as project needs require. This posting is for Baltimore, MD and projects are across North America.
