About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Field Engineer to support product field trials, system installations, and ongoing operations for industrial customers (including pulp & paper, food & beverage, and water treatment facilities). This is a hands-on, customer-facing role based in Atlanta, GA with regular travel (approximately 25–50%). The role combines on-site installation and troubleshooting with remote data analysis and trial support.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and provide operations support for chemical production systems at customer sites (trials and permanent installations).
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair chemical production equipment and associated process hardware (pumps, motors, sensors, power supplies).
- Conduct chemical and process stream analyses to evaluate performance.
- Prepare, manage, and coordinate equipment and supplies for deployments.
- Collect and analyze customer KPIs and operational data to quantify technology impact.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and HSEQ teams to recommend safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
- Communicate professionally with customer management and staff; provide training and technical updates.
- Support customers and internal teams remotely as needed (off-hour support may be required).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, environmental) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills with process equipment, automation, or water/chemical treatment processes.
- Comfortable working in industrial facilities: able to walk moderate distances, climb stairs, and work in variable temperatures.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 25–50% travel).
- Proficient with spreadsheets and basic data analysis (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in pulp & paper, water treatment, chemical, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on mechanical skills (plumbing, equipment assembly, fabrication) and familiarity with process hazard analysis.
- Experience with PLCs, process sensors, control signals, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Background in chemical hygiene and safety programs; familiarity with stoichiometry and unit conversion.
- Experience with engineering design software, Google Workspace, or basic project management.
