What You’ll Do
This role supports heavy-civil field and office engineering for large infrastructure projects on the U.S. West Coast. You will work on-site and in the office to help deliver safe, on-budget construction.
- Assist field crews by interpreting drawings and specifications for construction activities.
- Take field measurements, perform quantity calculations, and help determine percent complete for installed materials.
- Support layout and surveying tasks (elevation checks, control points, as-built data collection).
- Prepare and help maintain work plans, work packages, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), daily reports, and as-built records.
- Help process daily labor timesheets and enter cost data into job-cost systems.
- Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and minor procurement tasks.
- Assist with basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations.
- Help prepare submittals, transmittals, RFIs, and documentation for customers, vendors and agencies.
- Support change-order preparation and review as-built data with project managers.
- Assist in estimating tasks: material takeoffs, historical data review, and plan/spec risk identification.
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox talks, mass-safety meetings, and safety trainings.
- Support supervision of field operations and subcontractor coordination when assigned.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer or recent graduate with hands-on construction interest and willingness to travel.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, construction management, mining, geotechnical) required.
- Minimum overall GPA: 2.5.
- Entry-level / early-career candidates encouraged; previous internship experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in teams and independently.
- Demonstrated motivation, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and ethics.
- Ability to access all points of an active construction site in varied climates and conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to work rotating schedules, nights, weekends, and overtime when project demands require.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
- Willingness to relocate or travel as business requires (West Coast, including Alaska and Hawaii).

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $79,000 — $87,000 per year (actual pay depends on experience, education, location).
