Key Responsibilities
- Conduct up to 25 farm or facility visits weekly to evaluate feeding programs and recommend Purina-backed feed solutions.
- Grow and manage an assigned book of business from day one, leveraging established customer relationships and immediate sales opportunities.
- Introduce new feed products and nutrition programs to increase market share and product adoption.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealer/co-op teams and internal technical experts.
- Organize and lead educational events, on-site demonstrations, and customer training to drive dealer traffic and loyalty.
- Use CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to log activities, track pipeline, and inform territory decisions.
- Coordinate product launches and marketing initiatives with cross-functional teams.
- Operate autonomously in a remote, field-based role while participating in team meetings, sales training, and strategy implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field strongly desired; candidates with a pending degree or equivalent industry/sales experience will be considered.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience; prior sales, customer service, or agricultural experience is a plus.
- Strong interest in livestock care and animal nutrition (primary focus: cattle; occasional small ruminant/show customers).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Proven ability to build customer relationships and work independently in a territory.
- Comfortable performing on-farm interactions and animal evaluations in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and deliver public presentations.

Compensation & Travel
- Base salary: $53,000–$65,000 per year (dependent on experience/tenure).
- Target bonus: $10,000 (commission/bonus mix with base salary).
- Typical travel: daily travel within assigned geography; 5–10% overnight travel as needed.
Working Environment
- Remote (virtual) field-based sales role that must be located within the geographic territory of Harrisonburg, VA. Candidates must live or be able to regularly operate within that territory.
- Role requires frequent in-person customer visits, networking across the livestock and lifestyle industries, and regular collaboration with dealer/co-op partners.
