Federal Tax Associate (Fall 2027/Winter 2028)
The Federal Tax Associate at Confidential Client works with high net worth families, businesses, estates, trusts, and private foundations to provide comprehensive tax planning, research, and preparation of federal and state tax returns. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Federal Tax Associate to support private client and business tax engagements. You will:
- Work with high-net-worth families, closely held businesses, estates, trusts, and private foundations
- Build strong client relationships by understanding needs and challenges
- Perform tax planning and research for federal, state, and local matters
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns and related compliance filings
- Learn reporting requirements for different entity types and support the compliance process
- Contribute to development of tax strategies that may reduce clients’ effective tax rates
- Produce clear written analysis (memoranda and documentation) on complex tax issues
- Stay current on tax legislation and guidance relevant to private client services
- Collaborate with team members to complete work accurately and on schedule
Who You Are / Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field
- Coursework required to sit for the CPA exam, or possession of a JD or Enrolled Agent credential (or ability to obtain)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent client-service and interpersonal skills; comfortable collecting information from clients and answering questions
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of assigned tasks
Preferred
- CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent designation
- LL.M. in Taxation and/or Master’s in Taxation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $70,400 - $84,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
