Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Federal Tax Associate to join its Private Client Services team in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on tax planning, research, and compliance for high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, estates, trusts, and private foundations. The position is full-time.
What You’ll Do
- Work directly with high-net-worth families, closely held businesses, estates, trusts and private foundations to deliver tax compliance and planning services.
- Build strong client relationships, understand client needs, and manage communications.
- Complete federal and state & local tax returns accurately and on schedule.
- Conduct tax research and prepare written memoranda on complex tax issues.
- Contribute to developing tax planning ideas to help lower clients’ overall effective tax rates.
- Apply knowledge of entity reporting requirements and compliance across different entity types.
- Prepare work for review and ensure deliverables meet engagement standards.
- Stay current on federal tax legislation affecting private client service clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field.
- Required coursework to sit for the CPA exam, or a licensed JD, or Enrolled Agent credential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent client relations and interpersonal skills for gathering information and answering client inquiries.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and own assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent designation.
- LL.M. in Taxation and/or Master’s in Taxation.
- Prior experience with private client services, tax planning, or working with high-net-worth clients is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Range: $70,400 - $84,000 per year.
