About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Associate Platform Specialist to join a federal IT practice supporting mission‑critical government systems. This role is part of a 2027 associate intake (anticipated start between July and September 2027). You will help design, configure, and support platform infrastructure for public-sector clients while developing skills in cloud, automation, and security standards. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Federal security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Define, analyze, and review technical platform architecture; recommend architecture options
- Translate technical requirements into scoped solutions
- Configure systems and use systems‑management tools; support backup & recovery activities
- Support technical consultants in building solutions and provide technical mentoring and guidance
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on deployments and operational readiness
- Maintain awareness of cloud, on‑premise, and hybrid platform choices and tradeoffs
- Travel as required for client engagements (role notes willingness to travel up to 100%)
Qualifications
- Required education: Bachelor’s degree
- Required experience & skills:
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑changing, technology‑based consulting environment
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and logical approach to complex tasks
- Operational familiarity with common operating systems, application programs, system diagnostics, and remote support structures
- Familiarity with major cloud providers and cloud computing concepts (examples: AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud, Alibaba, Oracle)
- Exposure to basic software programming, scripting, and automation concepts
- Exposure to basic AI concepts, ethics, and methodologies
- Willingness and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Federal security clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 100%
