What You’ll Do

As a Federal Associate Developer (2027) with Confidential Client's US Federal team, you'll help design, build, and deliver secure, mission-critical technology solutions for federal, state, and local government clients. You'll work across the full system stack, contribute to generative AI projects, and apply Design Thinking to create high-quality, secure, and user-focused products. These positions are anticipated to start between March and August of 2027.


Responsibilities

  • Work across the entire system architecture to design, develop, and support high-quality, scalable products and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical specifications for generative AI projects.
  • Employ Design Thinking to deliver great user experiences with strong performance, security, quality, and stability.
  • Create mockups, UI components, algorithms, and data structures as part of delivering viable products.
  • Develop against relational and NoSQL databases (SQL, Postgres, DB2, MongoDB) and target multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, iOS, Android).
  • Build front-end components using modern UI frameworks (Backbone.js, AngularJS, React, Ember.js, Bootstrap, jQuery) and backend services (Spring Boot, web services, APIs).
  • Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews and collaborative development workflows.
  • Travel to client sites as required (up to 100%).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated programming proficiency in at least one: Java, C++, Python, Scala, R, SAS, SQL, Hadoop, HTML, SPSS, VBA, Tableau, Spark, Angular, ReactJS.
  • Systems design and development experience or related coursework.
  • Exposure to web services, APIs, and Java application frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with generative AI modeling, ethics, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, infrastructure concepts, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance (this may require U.S. citizenship per client requirements).
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Git repositories and collaborative workflows.
  • Internship or project experience in federal or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

Location & Clearance

Location: Herndon, VA (work may be at client sites). Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance while employed by Confidential Client. If you currently hold a clearance, please indicate level and status.


Compensation & Benefits

Estimated base pay: $128,994 per year (estimated).
