Position overview

This is an entry-level Extraction Technician role supporting confidential client manufacturing operations in cannabis extraction. The technician will operate and maintain production and lab equipment to process plant material into distillates and finished products. This role rotates across production areas, follows SOPs and state regulations, and supports accurate labeling, packaging, and production documentation.


What You’ll Do

  • Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and leads.
  • Prepare, gather, arrange, and sort raw materials for processing.
  • Operate production and laboratory equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer and SOP instructions.
  • Inspect equipment before use; perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure product uniformity and compliance with specifications.
  • Package finished goods in store-ready packaging and maintain accurate labeling of items, SRPs, and batches.
  • Maintain production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports.
  • Produce required quantities within established timeframes and contribute to team production goals.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with PPE and safety procedures.
  • Report injuries, near misses, and hazards to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age (per state cannabis regulations).
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science discipline (biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related) OR 1–3 years of related experience.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in production, manufacturing, or laboratory environments preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting machinery and performing basic maintenance highly preferred.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable using step ladders and performing tasks requiring fine motor skills.
  • Adequate visual acuity to read small screens and labels.

Workplace environment

  • Warehouse/production facility with environmental controls; moderate background noise from machinery/HVAC.
  • Exposure to plant dust/odor and possible skin contact with plant material (PPE provided).
  • Possible exposure to flammable and corrosive compounds (PPE and training provided).
  • Work may be performed in areas without natural light or in confined spaces.

Compensation & schedule

  • Pay range: $18.00 - $22.79 per hour (company-wide range). Offers will be provided in accordance with state-specific minimum wage guidelines.
  • Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.
