About the Role
Confidential Client is seeking a full-time Extension Educator focused on Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) who will also support 4-H youth development programming. This position is housed in Sallisaw and serves Sequoyah and Muskogee counties, with primary program delivery and community engagement responsibilities in both counties.
What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership for FCS programs and support 4-H youth development activities across Sequoyah and Muskogee counties.
- Design, implement, and evaluate research-based educational programs for diverse audiences, including youth, families, and community groups.
- Build and maintain relationships with local advisory groups, Oklahoma Home & Community Education members, schools, and community partners.
- Deliver outreach via workshops, classes, demonstrations, events, and digital communication channels.
- Manage program budgets, reports, and local partnerships; coordinate volunteers and community stakeholders.
- Use technology effectively for communication, program promotion, data collection, and reporting.
- Represent Confidential Client at local meetings, fairs, and extension events as required.
Location & Travel
- Primary location: Muskogee, OK (position serves Sequoyah and Muskogee counties; housed in Sallisaw).
- Regular local travel between county offices and community sites is required.
- Must maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device for work; salary includes compensation to apply toward personal cellular device use.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, public health, or a similar health-related field is required. Degree must be conferred on or before the agreed start date.
- For candidates without an FCS degree, the following apply:
- No FCS or Education Degree: take two approved education courses (Pedagogy & Classroom Management) and, within two years, pass APK and FCS OSAT.
- Education Degree (not FCS): provide proof of passing PPAT or APK.
- Alternatively certified in FCS with three years teaching: no additional requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for official travel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, program planning and evaluation experience, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse community audiences.
- Competency with computing and computer-based communications technology.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.
- Previous experience in Cooperative Extension or closely related outreach/education work.
Compensation & Employment Terms
- Base annual salary guideline: entry level with a bachelor’s degree $45,000; with a master’s degree $51,000. Starting salary is based on education and relevant experience.
- Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance, and available county funding.
- This is a full-time position. Benefits eligibility available per Confidential Client policies.
