Position overview

Confidential Client (Healthcare & Nursing) is hiring an Experiential Life Skills Training Coordinator to design and deliver life-skills programming for children and adolescents (ages 5–17) served by its placement and shelter programs. This is a full-time, on-site role in Robstown, TX. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.


Compensation & benefits

  • Hourly rate: $23.28 / hour

Work schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Travel between program locations as needed

Key responsibilities

  • Meet applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards for the position
  • Design individualized, age-appropriate life-skills plans for children ages 5–17
  • Collaborate with the foster care school team to develop and maintain a monthly activity calendar
  • Coordinate volunteer and community group participation (with Program Director approval)
  • Maintain inventory and procure supplies and equipment for experiential programming
  • Participate in community and staff meetings; support special events and groups
  • Track and report educational information and quarterly metrics
  • Use positive child management techniques (verbal redirection, de-escalation, positive reinforcement)
  • Maintain a safe, orderly learning environment and follow agency emergency protocols
  • Document participant progress and provide updates during regular meetings and reports
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional standards as required by agency policy

Other responsibilities

  • Evaluate and reassess life-skills needs for the service population
  • Develop, schedule, and present life-skills curriculum tailored to participants
  • Research and build relationships with community providers and resources
  • Meet predetermined deadlines and reporting requirements

Required qualifications & compliance

  • Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of progressive experience demonstrating supervisory, training, case management, or teaching responsibilities in similar fields
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, Emergency Behavior Intervention (or willingness to obtain)
  • Screening & checks:
    • Pass pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens during employment
    • Pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks
    • Provide proof of work authorization for any U.S. employer (Confidential Client cannot sponsor visas at this time)
  • Demonstrated skills:
    • Hands-on leadership and training ability
    • Knowledge of current educational best practices for the target population
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (bilingual English/Spanish required)
    • Cultural competence and sensitivity to socioeconomic differences
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Organizational skills and computer literacy to fulfill job duties
