What You’ll Do

This entry-level Estimator role supports confidential client’s site development and heavy civil projects. You'll work with experienced estimators and operations staff to develop competitive bids and grow your estimating skillset.

• Perform quantity takeoffs for assigned scopes and assist with preparing accurate project estimates.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Support preparation and organization of bid proposals and estimate documentation.
• Attend project handoff meetings to coordinate with Operations after award.
• Conduct site visits and field measurements as needed.
• Interpret construction drawings with guidance from senior estimators.
• Learn construction means, methods, equipment, and field operations through jobsite exposure.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes, and supporting documentation.
• Continuously develop technical skills and software proficiency.

Compensation

• $60,000 - $78,000 annually
• Eligible for the confidential client’s incentive/bonus program

Required Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with measurements and project data
• Ability to learn and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
• Flexibility to meet bid schedules and project deadlines
• Experience with or exposure to HCSS, AGTEK, and Viewpoint is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Coursework or exposure to estimating, construction technology, or AutoCAD preferred
• Internship, co-op, or entry-level construction experience is a plus
• Demonstrated interest in a long-term career in construction estimating

Working Conditions

• Work includes desk time and regular travel to active construction sites
• Must follow site safety policies and use required PPE (hard hat, safety vest, eye/hearing protection, safety-toe footwear)
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a vehicle for site visits and meetings
