Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Estimator to join their Offshore Services estimating team in Ingleside, TX. In this role you will develop cost estimates for complex, design-build projects in the oil, gas, and chemical markets. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction groups to analyze project requirements, identify risks, and prepare competitive proposals that support successful project delivery.


Location

This position is located onsite at the Confidential Client fabrication yard in Ingleside, TX (near Corpus Christi). Candidates must be willing to work on-site during standard operating hours and periodically work overtime or weekends as required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret contract documents (RFPs, specifications, drawings).
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for design-build projects in the Oil, Gas & Chemical market.
  • Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input and value engineering.
  • Participate in task force meetings, brainstorming sessions, and bid production working sessions.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate project risk during the estimating process.
  • Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and post-project meetings as needed.
  • Conduct site visits and investigations when required.
  • Meet productivity and timeline goals to deliver bids on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred.
  • 0–2 years of estimating experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic; able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work safely and follow written and verbal instructions, including equipment warnings and site safety policies.
  • May work at various locations and under varying site conditions.
  • Overtime and weekend work as required to meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated annual salary (from source listing): $38,517 per year (estimated). Actual compensation will vary based on education, experience, skillset, and location.
