What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Estate Planning Advisor to gain hands‑on experience supporting high‑net‑worth clients and family offices. In this role you will work with advisors and tax professionals to deliver estate, gift, and trust planning support.
- Understand estate planning techniques and how they support tax reduction strategies.
- Assist with construction of personal balance sheets and cash flow projections; review client documents and meet with clients to discuss existing estate plans.
- Research technical estate, gift, and trust income taxation issues and prepare tax memoranda.
- Prepare gift tax returns (Form 709), estate tax returns (Form 706) and trust income tax returns (Form 1041).
- Create practice tools, materials, and presentations on estate tax topics for client and internal use.
- Assess insurance suitability and coordinate with brokers/carriers to place appropriate coverage.
- Collaborate across teams (advisory, tax, trust) to provide integrated client solutions.
What We’re Looking For
Candidates who will succeed in this role typically have:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or related business curriculum. (Pursuing a JD is optional.)
- Academic success (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred).
- Strong interest in wealth transfer planning, estate/gift tax, trusts and insurance.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent client service, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Internship experience in accounting, finance, or related fields preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute to client deliverables and practice development.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation varies by geography and experience. The source posting lists a compensation range for some states (CO, IL, MA): $80,000 - $83,000. Compensation for positions located in Michigan may differ based on market and candidate factors.
