Overview

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level engineers for a 12–18 month Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) — Product Development Track. This hands-on program places recent graduates into multiple engineering rotations (product design, simulation/FEA, test/validation, controls, electronics, embedded software, data analytics, and process engineering) to accelerate technical growth, mentorship, and career development. Most placements are based in Peoria, IL, with roles also available in other U.S. locations; some positions are in Decatur, IL.


What You’ll Do

You’ll participate in 3–6 rotations across engineering teams to gain broad exposure and build practical skills. Typical activities include:

  • Work on product design projects from concept through production
  • Run simulation and performance analyses (CFD, FEA, 3D modeling, etc.)
  • Support hands-on test and validation activities, troubleshooting and data collection
  • Develop control algorithms using Matlab/Simulink and test prior to deployment
  • Design and test electronic control modules and assist with PCB layout/testing
  • Develop embedded software in C, C#, or C++ and create automation scripts (Python, VB)
  • Validate software/hardware on HIL/SIL systems and report findings
  • Apply data analytics and machine learning techniques to engineering problems
  • Support process engineering efforts to optimize manufacturing or test processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering work in assigned rotations with measurable impact
  • Analyze problems, perform root cause analysis, and propose practical solutions
  • Communicate technical findings clearly in written reports and presentations
  • Collaborate across functions (manufacturing, suppliers, quality, systems)
  • Follow quality processes including FMEA documentation and verification testing
  • Manage multiple project deliverables while continuing to learn new tools/techniques

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following to be considered:

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed before start date) in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Agricultural, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 (no rounding)
  • 12 months or less of prior professional work experience (internships/co-ops excluded)
  • Willingness to relocate and travel as needed
  • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday (this is an in-person role)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available

Preferred (Top Candidate) Attributes

  • Participation in campus design/competition teams or engineering projects
  • Technical internship, co-op experience, or hands-on lab/test experience
  • Project leadership or team coordination experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink, ANSYS, FEA, Python, C/C++, embedded systems, or HIL/SIL validation (any of these is a plus)

Program Details & Logistics

  • Program length: 12–18 months with multiple rotational assignments
  • Typical work schedule: Monday–Friday, in-person
  • Most roles based in Peoria, IL; applicants may be considered for openings across the U.S.
  • 2027 start dates (limited seats): February 1, 2027; June 7, 2027; July 12, 2027; August 2, 2027

Compensation & Benefits

  • Summary pay range: $81,370 — $133,810 per year (range may vary by location, job level, and individual factors)
