2027 Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) - Product Development Track
The 2027 Engineering Rotational Development Program at Confidential Client is a full-time, on-site entry-level program designed to develop engineering graduates through 12 to 18 months of rotational assignments across multiple engineering disciplines including product design, simulation, controls, embedded software, and process engineering. Participants will gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and receive mentorship to build technical and professional skills while contributing to innovative solutions in construction and mining equipment manufacturing.

Program Overview
Confidential Client is hiring for the 2027 Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) — Product Development Track. This is an entry-level, full-time, in-person rotational program (12–18 months) that gives early-career engineers hands-on experience across multiple engineering disciplines, mentorship from senior technical staff, and exposure to product lifecycle from concept through production. Roles will be placed throughout the United States, with many positions based in Peoria, IL, and openings in Brooklyn Park, MN (and other locations as available).
Location note: Most roles are onsite Monday–Friday. Selected candidates must be willing to relocate or travel as needed.

Typical Rotation Paths
Participants may rotate across one or more of the following tracks based on business needs and candidate background:

Product Design
- Component and system design from concept to production.
- Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers, and validation teams.

Simulation / Performance Analysis
- CFD, FEA, 3D modeling, structural dynamics, and system optimization.
- Performance work across engines, batteries, fuel cells, powertrains, and machine systems.

Test / Validation (Hands-on)
- Test planning, execution, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis in lab or field environments.

Controls Development
- Algorithm design and implementation using MATLAB/Simulink and controls engineering for engine, powertrain, and implement systems.

Electronic Components
- PCB/layout support, digital/analog/power circuit analysis, and component validation; supplier collaboration and FMEA execution.

Embedded Software Development
- Embedded C/C++/C# development for controllers and ECUs, scripts for automation (Python, VB), and performance optimization.

Software Validation / Verification
- HIL/SIL testing, debugging, requirement verification, and regression testing for electronic control systems.

Engineering Data Analytics
- Python coding, data analytics, machine learning concepts, and applying statistics to engineering problems.

Process Engineering
- Manufacturing/process optimization, industrial and systems engineering focused improvements.
Required Qualifications
To be considered you must meet these minimum requirements:
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Agricultural, or Aerospace Engineering; Engineering Technology; or a closely related technical discipline. Degree must be completed prior to program start.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 (no rounding).
- 12 months or less of prior professional work experience (internships and co-ops excluded).
- Ability and willingness to relocate and travel as required by program assignments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and quickly learn new technical skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Participation in campus design teams, competitions, or engineering clubs.
- Leadership experience on projects or teams.
- Previous technical internships/co-ops.
- Familiarity with one or more of: MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, ANSYS (CFD/FEA), PCB/layout fundamentals, HIL/SIL systems, embedded software development.
- Intellectual curiosity and adaptability.
Compensation & Benefits
Summary Pay Range: $81,370.00 - $133,810.00 per year (range reflects variations by job level, location, and experience). This salary range is provided where available and required by pay-transparency laws.
