Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an EO Sensor Analyst / Engineer II to join an optics and sensor engineering team focused on Tier II exo‑atmospheric seekers and sensors. In this hands-on engineering role you will analyze laboratory and flight test data, refine algorithms and test procedures, and help transition seeker designs from engineering into production. The role emphasizes data‑driven test support, Matlab‑based analysis, and close collaboration with test and production teams to improve throughput and mission assurance.

What You’ll Do

  • Support assessment of flight test performance for Tier II exo‑atmospheric seekers and sensors by comparing laboratory measurements and environmental predictions to flight test data.
  • Prepare detailed flight test report sections on EO sensor and seeker performance; document anomalies and present findings to program leadership.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to define algorithm requirements, analyze system performance, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Interface with test equipment development, hardware assembly, and factory test personnel to optimize procedures and increase test efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct independent investigations into test problems, produce failure reports, and propose corrective actions.
  • Analyze sensor output and tool‑generated data to identify issues, drive root‑cause investigations, and support continuous process improvement.
  • Document algorithms, analysis methods, and code; participate in peer reviews and knowledge transfer to production teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) — or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in EO sensor or seeker data analysis or a closely related technical area.
  • Proficiency with Matlab for data analysis, signal processing, and algorithm development.
  • Experience with laboratory measurement techniques for optics, detectors, and EO sensors.
  • History of writing technical data analysis reports and communicating results to technical leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable conclusions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, test, and production teams and to clearly document methods and results.

Preferred / Helpful Skills

  • Experience with exo‑atmospheric seeker data or flight test support.
  • Familiarity with sensor model validation, environmental performance prediction, and system‑level test planning.
  • Knowledge of scripting or software version control practices for reproducible analysis.
  • Experience improving test throughput or automating portions of a factory test process.

Benefits & Work Environment

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Life and disability coverage, 401(k) with company match, and flexible spending accounts.
  • Paid time off, parental leave, and professional development opportunities.
  • Potential relocation assistance for eligible candidates.
  • Work is collaborative and often interfaces directly with production/test teams; some on‑site presence may be required depending on program needs.

Location & Employment Type

  • Location: Boardman, OR (onsite / on‑site test support expected as required)
  • Employment type: Full‑time
