Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Environmental Specialist to support environmental program management and records transition at Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam in Hawaii. This role supports installation environmental compliance, inspections, permitting coordination, and the transfer and maintenance of environmental records into designated Air Force systems (e.g., NexGen IT, SharePoint).
What You’ll Do
As an Environmental Specialist (Junior), you will:
- Support environmental program management, compliance reviews, reporting, and coordination with environmental program managers.
- Apply federal, state, Department of Defense, and Air Force environmental requirements to identify risks, document issues, and support mitigation actions.
- Assist in transferring environmental permits, studies, compliance records, and related documentation from Navy systems to designated Air Force systems (NexGen IT, SharePoint).
- Catalog and maintain accurate digital environmental records in accordance with Air Force records-management standards.
- Support authorized coordination with regulators, mission partners, and community stakeholders.
- Assist with environmental permit applications, regulatory correspondence, inspections, and reviews.
- Conduct or support internal environmental inspections, sampling, hazard identification, and compliance monitoring.
- Track asbestos-containing material, lead-based paint, waste streams, wildlife observations, and facility environmental conditions.
- Collect, analyze, validate, and report environmental data.
- Prepare technical documentation, briefings, visual products, and meeting materials for environmental councils and cross-functional teams.
- Provide environmental inputs for Activity Management Plans, DD Form 1391 packages, and other project-planning efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are / Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related natural science from an accredited U.S. institution.
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain a required background investigation and obtain required credentials and Air Force system access.
- Ability to work on-site at Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam, Hawaii.
- Ability to comply with applicable environmental, safety, operations security, cybersecurity, network-use, and records-management requirements.
Preferred
- Current U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance (preferred).
- Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory inspections, or environmental sampling protocols.
- Familiarity with environmental datasets, records-management systems, or SharePoint/NexGen IT workflows.
Location & Schedule
- On-site at Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam, Hawaii.
- Anticipated schedule: Monday–Friday, normal business hours.

- Estimated annual salary (as listed): $45,256 per year (estimated).
