Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking Environmental Specialist (Entry and Mid-level) to support environmental programs at Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam (Jbphh), HI. This full-time role supports Air Force installation environmental compliance, data analysis, impact assessments, and the transfer/management of real property and environmental project responsibilities. Estimated starting compensation: up to $95,000 (pay commensurate with experience). Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
What You’ll Do
The Environmental Specialist will assist with development and implementation of environmental programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the transition of environmental responsibilities. Key duties include:
- Assist in development of briefing materials related to Air Force environmental programs
- Support data collection, analysis, briefing preparation, working sessions, and meeting coordination
- Analyze environmental and conservation regulatory issues and legislative impacts
- Help prepare policy and strategic guidance for installation, command, and headquarters environmental requirements
- Coordinate efforts with contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate studies and actions supporting environmental quality on military bases
- Support compliance and conservation program document development, status reporting, and strategic environmental plan reviews
- Contribute to strategic communications, campaign plans, policy coordination, and social media support as needed
- Review pending legislation and its impact on program funding and operations
- Assist in office visits, presentations, and responses to state agencies
- Perform other job-related duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum and preferred qualifications for each level:
- Mid-Level
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related natural science from an accredited institution
- Three years of DoD facility/infrastructure experience and five years of environmental program management or related experience
- Entry-Level
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or related natural science from an accredited institution
- One year of DoD facility/infrastructure experience and three years of prior experience in Air Force real property at the base level preferred
- Required / Preferred for all candidates
- Experience with military real property management processes, database systems, and reporting
- Familiarity with engineering and facility plans and documents
- Working knowledge of NexGen IT and/or BUILDER preferred
- Strong communication skills and intermediate MS Excel (filters, sorts, pivot tables, conditional formatting, basic formulas); familiarity with MS Access
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- English language proficiency or fluency
- Candidates should have a valid U.S. passport
- Requires a Common Access Card (CAC) or the ability to obtain one through a federal security investigation
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications set by Confidential Client

Compensation & Benefits

Location & Work Environment
This position is based at Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam (Jbphh), HI. Candidates should be prepared to work on-site and support government stakeholders and base-level environmental programs. Some travel and coordination with external agencies and contractors may be required.
