About the Role

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance and conservation programs at Hickam Air Force Base (JBPHH) in Jbphh, HI. This role supports safe, compliant facility and infrastructure operations by maintaining program records, supporting inspections, preparing permit documentation, and performing environmental data collection and reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Support management and evaluation of environmental compliance and conservation programs; identify mitigation and abatement needs and track corrective actions to closure.
• Transfer and maintain environmental documentation across authorized systems of record and upload required records to centralized databases following records-management policies.
• Help develop and review environmental project plans, specifications, cost estimates, mitigation actions, and abatement projects; coordinate environmental requirements with engineering and planning teams.
• Prepare permit applications and regulatory correspondence; coordinate inspections and official visits; respond to compliance findings using approved procedures.
• Assist with internal environmental inspections by developing checklists and schedules, documenting findings, and performing environmental sampling and field observations.
• Review hazardous-material surveys and evaluate abatement, remediation, and environmental-service proposals for technical sufficiency.
• Conduct recurring data collection and analysis; prepare technical reports, presentations, and visual products; maintain organized program files.
• Support stakeholder engagement and risk communications as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related natural science from an institution accredited in the United States.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience supporting environmental compliance, inspections, or related environmental programs.
• Ability to pass a background investigation for Tier 1 access (required).
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and regulatory correspondence.
• Ability to use standard office and data tools for documentation and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with military facility or infrastructure environmental programs (preferred).
• Familiarity with permit application processes, environmental sampling protocols, and hazardous-material survey review.
• Experience integrating environmental requirements into engineering or facility design.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods, typing, and reading from a computer screen.
• Position may require bending, reaching, kneeling, and occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds) as necessary to complete duties.
• Duties may include fieldwork and site visits at base facilities; appropriate footwear and safety precautions are required.

Compensation

• Posted salary range: USD $65,000 - USD $80,000 per year.

• This position supports operations at Hickam Air Force Base (JBPHH) in Jbphh, HI. Candidates must be able to meet the location and clearance requirements described above.
