About the role
This Environmental Services Manager in Training (MIT) role prepares early-career leaders for operational management in healthcare environmental services (EVS) and support services. The position is connected to an Accelerated Manager Program (AMP) that combines hands-on on-site learning with structured leadership development. This opportunity is with a Confidential Client operating in the Hospitality & Catering industry and is associated with locations in and around Baton Rouge, LA. What you’ll do
- Train in day-to-day environmental services operations including housekeeping, safety, infection prevention practices, and quality control.
- Learn and support hiring, onboarding, and team development activities.
- Participate in payroll, timekeeping, and basic finance tasks (profit & loss awareness, inventory).
- Support contract administration and maintain client relations per site requirements.
- Assist with equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and departmental policies.
- Complete AMP coursework, simulations, and on-site assessments to prepare for front-line management roles.
Who we’re looking for (qualifications)
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree completed by May 2027 or earlier (required).
- One year of customer service, hospitality, healthcare, or related internship/work experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated financial acumen or exposure to budget/inventory responsibilities (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and departmental policy.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications.
- Mechanical inclination and problem-solving mindset.
- Driver’s license (required for roles involving transportation or multi-site responsibilities).
- Willingness to relocate if required for placement after training (relocation may be required for certain assignments).
Training & advancement
- You will be enrolled in the Accelerated Manager Program (AMP): a blended program of assessments, personalized learning, simulations, and one-on-one coaching.
- Typical AMP timeline: ~12 weeks (may vary based on learning needs).
- Program outcomes include individualized development plans, ongoing mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Successful completion and placement into a full-time management role depend on performance and business needs; placement is not guaranteed.
Compensation & benefits
- Reported salary range in source materials: $53,000 – $55,000 per year.
