What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Environmental Planner / Scientist to support environmental design, permitting, and field work. You will assist senior environmental staff on projects involving environmental compliance and site assessments.

  • Support preparation of state and federal environmental documentation, including NEPA.
  • Assist socioeconomic analyses and environmental justice evaluations.
  • Conduct wetland delineations and stream assessments.
  • Perform threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations and surveys.
  • Support Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting efforts.
  • Assist with environmental site investigations, field sampling, and terrestrial ecosystem assessments.
  • Participate in periodic travel and overnight field work as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments (heat, uneven terrain, steep slopes).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

This role requires field work and the ability to:

  • Walk and navigate rough or uneven terrain (mud, rocks, stream banks, wooded areas).
  • Perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, twisting, and climbing.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high/low temperatures and precipitation.

Compensation range (good-faith estimate): $70,000 – $125,000 per year. Actual pay will depend on experience, skills, and other factors.
