What You’ll Do

This contract role supports the Environmental Monitoring (EM) program for a confidential client in the Oakwood / Dayton, OH area. You will perform hands-on sampling in controlled environments, help manage biohazard risk, and support continuous improvement of EM processes.

  • Perform environmental sampling activities in biosafety cabinets and cleanrooms according to SOPs
  • Monitor and document biohazard risks tied to tissue and biological materials; execute decontamination procedures as required
  • Coordinate with microbiology and operations teams to maintain EM program standards and respond to excursions
  • Record, label, and log samples and test results accurately; maintain chain-of-custody and quality documentation
  • Support development and implementation of process improvements to reduce contamination risk
  • Follow all safety, aseptic, and PPE requirements; participate in training and competency assessments
  • Work assigned shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and maintain reliable onsite presence

What We’re Looking For

We want organized, safety-focused candidates who can follow protocols independently and communicate clearly across teams.

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in a scientific field with multiple laboratory courses, or currently enrolled in such a program
  • OR High School Diploma with documented regulated quality and/or laboratory experience (considered case-by-case)
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique, biosafety cabinets, and cleanroom behavior (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation habits, and ability to follow SOPs
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with microbiology and operations teams
  • Must be able to work onsite in Oakwood / Dayton, OH and be flexible on shift schedule
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; able to pass any required background checks and screening

Pay & Benefits

  • Contract pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Location & Schedule

This is a fully onsite contract position in Oakwood / Dayton, OH (postal code 45410). Openings are available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts; most openings are 2nd or 3rd shift. The client is primarily hiring for part-time roles but may consider full-time candidates for specific shifts.
