What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to support EHS consulting projects across commercial and industrial client sites. This is an entry-level to early-career role (0–2 years experience) focused on implementing safety programs, conducting site audits, delivering training, and supporting client compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct safety training (e.g., Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout, HAZWOPER, Forklift Safety).
- Prepare written reports, policies, gap analyses, and root cause analyses.
- Develop and help implement safety programs for clients across multiple industries.
- Independently perform site audits and inspections, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients to address safety and compliance needs.
- Interact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, natural sciences, fire safety, engineering, or another applicable discipline is required.
- 0–2 years of relevant EHS experience preferred (entry-level candidates with strong academic credentials considered).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
Required Skills
- Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive); familiarity with EHS/safety management software is a plus.
- Ability to wear and work in Level C personal protective equipment.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York City boroughs, and the Tri-State area.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
- HAZWOPER certification.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
