What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer (part-time) to join their Resilience & Environment team. You will support environmental assessment and remediation projects, with a focus on emerging contaminants and remedial system design. This role combines fieldwork and office tasks, and will include working alongside senior technical staff, project managers, and external stakeholders.

• Assist Project Managers and Task Managers with site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
• Support engineering design tasks: land development planning, hydraulic calculations, erosion & sediment control, and earthwork design
• Help develop permit and construction-level drawings, prepare specifications, and perform construction cost estimating
• Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractor work
• Conduct fieldwork emphasizing health & safety: soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater sampling, geotechnical investigations, and construction oversight
• Write technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
• Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, prepare cost estimates and health & safety plans, and support proposal writing and project strategy
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings and present technical findings

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and comfortable in both field and office environments. You should be team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage shifting priorities.

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field (required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality work practices

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT certification
• Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or related field
• Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
• Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS

Location, Travel & Schedule

• Primary location: Saint Francis, WI (role supports projects across the region)
• Position type: Part-time
• Field work will typically require regional travel (about 1–2 days per week on average). During initial years travel may be higher (up to ~75% early on), with reduced travel as the role evolves. Occasional U.S. travel up to two weeks may be required. Travel expenses are reimbursable.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $54,648 - $81,972 per year (actual pay will vary based on experience, education, internal equity, project and location)
• Benefits (for eligible roles) may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, paid parental leave, short/long-term disability, EAP, paid holidays, PTO, tuition assistance, and other optional benefits. Specific eligibility depends on employment type and client policy.
