Overview

This opportunity is with a confidential client supporting mission-critical systems. You will work with an experienced engineering team to design, build, and operate high-throughput server-side applications and data-processing pipelines. Work focuses on backend services, message processing, and containerized deployments — not front-end UI.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and implement server-side applications and RESTful services for high-volume processing systems.
• Build and optimize data ingress pipelines and processing-intensive analytics.
• Develop, deploy, and operate services in containerized environments using Kubernetes.
• Integrate and maintain enterprise messaging solutions (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ) for reliable message routing.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment using Git, Jira, and Confluence; contribute to design reviews and CI/CD workflows.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, tune systems for throughput and latency, and participate in on-call rotations as required.
• Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and emerging technical needs in a mission-focused program.

Required Qualifications

• ACTIVE TS/SCI polygraph clearance.
• Strong hands-on experience developing server-side Java applications and RESTful web services.
• Experience deploying and managing services with Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with JMS/enterprise messaging (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with Agile development workflows and tools (Git, Jira, Confluence); experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse.
• Education / experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline PLUS 14+ years of professional software development experience — OR High School Diploma / GED PLUS 18+ years of hands-on technical software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to multitask, shift priorities rapidly, and work effectively within small, focused teams.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Kotlin or Python for automation and rapid service development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Apache NiFi or similar tools for automated data routing and payload ingestion.
• Background in performance tuning for high-throughput messaging systems.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual base salary range: $189,000 - $224,000 (USD). Actual compensation will be determined by the confidential client based on location, experience, and qualifications.
