Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer based in Charlotte, NC with a target start date of January 2027 to June 2027. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience on water and wastewater projects — including treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations, and distribution/collection systems — working alongside senior engineers and project managers to deliver sustainable water solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the design and analysis of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and collection networks
- Prepare engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications
- Perform hydraulic modeling and engineering calculations
- Conduct field investigations, data collection, and site inspections
- Support permitting and regulatory compliance activities
- Help prepare cost estimates and project schedules
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- 0–1 years of professional engineering experience (internships or co-ops are valuable)
- Familiarity or coursework experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in project teams and willingness to learn on the job
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year
- Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects or internships in the water sector
- Basic knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory requirements for water/wastewater systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
