Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Water Resources Engineer to join their Water Resources team in Minneapolis, MN. This role offers hands-on project work, mentoring from experienced engineers, and exposure to hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, stormwater design, and environmental permitting for public- and private-sector clients.


Responsibilities

  • Roadway drainage system layout and design, including new and retrofit systems and design of Best Management Practices (BMPs)
  • Site design, including BMP design, modeling, and Low Impact Development (LID) practices
  • Design of stormwater reuse systems, green infrastructure, and other sustainable stormwater management solutions
  • Surface water management planning, feasibility studies, and technical assessments
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analysis
  • Hydraulic analysis for bridge, culvert, channel, and revetment design
  • Bioengineering design for streambank stabilization, restoration, and wetland creation
  • Erosion control and sediment management BMP design
  • Wetland and floodplain mitigation analysis and permitting support
  • Preparation of water-resources sections for environmental documents (EA, EAW, EIS)
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Biosystems Engineering (with hydrology/water-resources emphasis), or a related field
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain EIT within 6 months
  • Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools such as SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD is a plus
  • Experience with MicroStation/Geopak and/or AutoCAD is a plus
  • Strong teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa support now or in the future
