What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Water Engineer to join their water resources team in Middletown, CT. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers who want hands-on experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater projects and who are eager to develop technical and project-management skills.

• Support planning, design, and analysis for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects (pipelines, pumping stations, treatment processes, conveyance systems).
• Use engineering software and tools to perform modeling and design (CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, EPANET, MODFLOW).
• Participate in field activities including site visits, sampling, flow-monitoring set-up, construction inspection, and plant operations evaluation.
• Assist with data analytics, asset management assessments, and performance evaluations for water/wastewater facilities.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and client deliverables; support meetings and presentations.
• Contribute to project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control under senior staff guidance.
• Leverage digital collaboration tools (SharePoint, BIM, PowerBI, cloud databases) to improve project delivery.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Strong foundation in engineering principles relevant to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and willingness to learn in a team environment.

Preferred

• Internship or prior experience at a design/consulting firm or municipal public works environment.
• Experience or familiarity with CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, and/or hydraulic/hydrologic modeling tools.
• Exposure to field sampling, construction inspection, or plant operations is a plus.

Employment Details & Compensation

• Location: Middletown, CT (on-site / field work as required)
• Employment type: Contract, Part-time
• Salary range: $64,800 — $87,480 per year (range provided by Confidential Client). Actual pay will depend on experience, education, and other lawful factors.
• Benefits (where applicable for the role): medical, dental, vision, retirement 401(k), STD/LTD, life insurance, paid time off and holidays, parental leave, and other voluntary benefits (as offered by the employer).
