What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Voice, Data, Security (VDS) Engineer to join its Life Sciences engineering team in Saint Bernard, OH. In this role you'll contribute to designs for advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and data‑center facilities. You will use AutoCAD and Revit to produce detailed layouts and deliverable packages under direction from designers and design leads.

  • Produce computer-aided drafting and design deliverables for communications, security and related systems
  • Create 2D drawings and 3D models, sketches, and annotated layouts using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Assist in preparation and coordination of design packages and electronic document files
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams (electrical, mechanical, structural) to integrate communications/security systems
  • Follow applicable standards and specifications and support quality control and review processes
  • Communicate design decisions and progress with design leads and clients in written and verbal formats

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • At least 1 year of experience actively designing communications or security systems (internship or professional experience accepted)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D drafting) — experience with Revit is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated with the ability to coordinate work across disciplines and with clients
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. now and in the future (no sponsorship available)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (if recent graduate)
  • Local to Saint Bernard / Cincinnati area (able to work hybrid from the office)
  • Passed NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
  • Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28
  • Exposure to NEC and electrical design requirements

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Estimated base pay (from source): $59,222 per year (estimated)
