Role overview

This entry-level field sales role supports a Confidential Client in the orthopedic medical device industry. The Entry Level Trauma Specialist will learn technical product knowledge, support surgeons and OR staff during procedures, and help drive territory growth across the Mundelein / Chicagoland area. This is a full-time, field-based sales role that requires frequent travel to hospitals and surgical centers and regular time spent in operating rooms.


What you’ll do

  • Represent a Confidential Client and its orthopedic trauma product portfolio in the assigned territory.
  • Support surgeons and OR teams during procedures — provide technical product knowledge and case support.
  • Meet and exceed territory sales goals and quotas.
  • Build and maintain relationships with surgeons, purchasing personnel, and clinical staff.
  • Communicate product updates, training opportunities, and educational programs to customers.
  • Identify new prospects, execute sales plans, and support new product introductions.
  • Collect competitive and market intelligence to inform territory strategy.
  • Attend trainings, labs, industry meetings and trade shows.
  • Maintain compliance with federal/state/local regulations and internal policies.
  • Regularly lift surgical kits and equipment (ability to lift up to ~55 lbs).

What we’re looking for (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1–2 years of sales experience; prior healthcare or medical device exposure preferred.
  • Comfortable working in operating room environments and interacting with surgical teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; travel within the territory is required.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology (orthopedics preferred).
  • Ability to manage inventory, support case logistics, and maintain accurate records.

  • Early-career candidates with demonstrated ability to build relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Experience or interest in orthopedic/sports medicine markets.
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and able to follow structured training and mentoring.
  • Professional presence in surgical settings and commitment to patient privacy and compliance.
