Role Overview

Confidential Client is looking for an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join their Roadway team in Kansas City, MO. This role is ideal for a recent or soon-to-be graduate who is eager to build technical experience in roadway and transportation design while contributing to projects that positively impact communities.


What You’ll Do

You will support roadway and transportation projects across the full project lifecycle. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to CAD drafting and design support for urban and rural roadways, multimodal paths, and highway/interchange improvements
  • Assist with research, data collection, and preparation of technical memoranda and project reports
  • Perform field observations and site visits to support design and construction activities
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, and other project stakeholders
  • Apply quality-control checks to drawings and deliverables
  • Learn and apply company design standards, specifications, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (December 2026 graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Interest in transportation engineering and roadway design
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
