What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry‑Level Training Specialist to deliver high-quality pre-service and ongoing training to new staff working in child welfare service areas. You will support trainer and coaching activities across virtual and in-person environments.
- Deliver Pre‑Service Training covering fundamentals of child welfare and program‑specific topics (e.g., CPS, Foster Care, Juvenile Justice).
- Teach trauma‑informed case management practices and practical practice models (Engagement, Teaming, Assessment, Planning, Implementation, Tracking, Adjusting).
- Train on self‑care strategies and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
- Provide coaching and constructive feedback to new hires based on field observations and identified practice gaps.
- Facilitate Mentor Certification programs and proctor pre‑service assessments.
- Participate in case panel presentations and simulation lab activities (location dependent).
- Provide web‑based technical assistance and deliver training via Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms.
- Collaborate with training team members and program/regional leadership to ensure consistency and quality of content and delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation for training, coaching, assessments, and employee development.
- Travel as required for in‑person training and field observations; mileage reimbursement available for eligible travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of direct child welfare field experience (case management, investigations, foster care, or juvenile justice).
- One (1) year of experience in training delivery, adult education, or staff development.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and other virtual training tools.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, evolving training environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering training in government or human services settings.
- Certification or coursework in trauma‑informed care, Motivational Interviewing, or adult learning principles.
- Experience coaching or mentoring newly hired staff.
- Experience developing or facilitating both instructor‑led and virtual training programs.
Work Conditions
- Hybrid role with a mix of remote and on‑site responsibilities.
- Travel required for in‑person training, coaching sessions, and field observations.
- Ability to facilitate sessions using virtual collaboration and learning platforms.
- Mileage reimbursement available for eligible travel.
Compensation
- $19–21 / Hourly
