Position Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an Entry‑Level Traffic Engineer based in Cockeysville, MD. This is an early‑career, full‑time role expected to start Spring/Summer 2027. The role includes participation in a hiring event in Arlington, VA (networking mixer + interviews) and offers hands‑on traffic engineering experience on public‑sector and municipal projects.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct traffic engineering analysis under supervision.
• Use industry software to solve traffic and transportation‑planning problems.
• Perform field work including traffic counts and site visits.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, maps and other documentation to support findings and recommendations.
• Deliver work on agreed budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with other engineers and project teams to solve transportation challenges.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Preferred:
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
  • Related co‑op or internship experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience on projects for state DOTs, toll authorities, municipalities, or similar agencies.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, HSM, IHSDM, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

• This position is expected to begin Spring/Summer 2027.
• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

• All new hires are required to attend an in‑person Day‑1 onboarding at a client office location as a condition of employment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: USD 70,000 — USD 80,000 per year.
• Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, retirement savings, and other voluntary benefits, depending on employment status.

• Primary work location: Cockeysville, MD (hybrid work model).
• Hiring event interviews will be held in Arlington, VA (details to invited candidates).
