What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Traffic and Transportation Engineer to support traffic planning, design, and transportation‑planning studies from its Stamford, CT office. You will work on regional, state, and municipal projects across the tri-state area, collaborating with planners, engineers, and other specialists.

• Provide traffic planning, design, and engineering services for public-sector and private development projects
• Prepare multimodal transportation studies addressing vehicular traffic, transit, pedestrian flow, safety, and parking
• Conduct field visits and oversee data collection and traffic counts
• Perform conceptual designs for roadway and pedestrian facility improvements
• Coordinate technical work with internal teams (planners, engineers, scientists) and external stakeholders
• Prepare written reports, technical memoranda, and presentation materials
• Represent the team in professional organizations and client meetings

Who You Are (Qualifications)

• 0–3 years of relevant traffic/transportation engineering experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
• E.I.T. certification, PE registration, or ability/plan to obtain (encouraged)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with GIS and/or CAD (AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads) preferred
• Experience with traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM) is a plus
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
• Commitment to producing clear deliverables and working collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams

Compensation

• Base salary range: $75,000–$85,000 per year (commensurate with experience). This posting complies with applicable pay‑transparency requirements for Connecticut.
