What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Technical Field Advisor (TFA) — Steam Turbine for a remote, U.S.-based field role. You will manage and perform on-site steam power activities, install and maintain equipment, and provide technical service and customer instruction.

  • Manage, perform, coordinate, and monitor steam power site activities.
  • Perform on-site installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of systems and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment vintages.
  • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports, job status updates, time and expense sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure required parts and materials are shipped to sites and supervise critical third-party tasks when needed.
  • Execute aftermarket upgrades and sign off on implemented changes.

Qualifications

Required (choose one pathway):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university (3.0+ GPA preferred), OR
  • High school diploma / GED plus 4+ years of experience in field services or power generation equipment maintenance.

Additional required items:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time (domestic).
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to complete a drug screen if required.

Preferred / Desired

  • Experience working on customer sites and performing hands-on fieldwork.
  • Strong technical aptitude — fast learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of steam turbine operation and controlling parameters OR steam boiler operational principals.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams; experience with dial/laser alignment and thermal growth considerations.
