What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Tax Accounting Analyst to support tax accounting, reporting, and compliance across a multi‑jurisdictional regulated natural gas utility. Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare tax accruals and maintain supporting calculations and workpapers
- Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales and use tax filings
- Support property tax reporting and compliance activities
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to tax accounting
- Prepare documentation and respond to information requests supporting tax audits
- Monitor tax filing deadlines and maintain accurate compliance records
- Research applicable tax regulations and requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Maintain tax documentation, schedules, and supporting financial records
- Support development and improvement of tax processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and other stakeholders on tax reporting and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3+ years of accounting, tax, or related professional experience
- Experience preparing tax accruals, reconciliations, or supporting tax filings
- Knowledge of state and local tax (SALT) compliance processes
- Experience with general ledger account reconciliations and financial close activities
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP or financial accounting systems
- Exposure to SALT requirements preferred
- Utility, energy, or regulated‑industry experience preferred
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA preferred
Compensation & Location
- Estimated salary: $66,576 per year (as listed)
- Employment type: Full‑time
- Work location: Harahan, LA (on‑site / client worksite)
- This role is with the Confidential Client; you would be employed directly by the client if selected.
