What You’ll Do

You will join a systems engineering team supporting real-time embedded navigation receivers used in defense and aerospace platforms. This entry-level role focuses on algorithm development, system modeling, embedded implementation, and integration/validation of navigation and sensor-fusion systems.

  • Support architecture, design, and development of real-time embedded Navigation receivers for ground, airborne, and weapons applications
  • Develop state-estimation and sensor-fusion algorithms (e.g., Kalman filters) and validate performance in simulation and test
  • Implement embedded code in C++ and prototype algorithms and data processing in Python
  • Model and simulate systems using MATLAB/Simulink; generate test vectors and run automated validation
  • Integrate sensor data streams (GPS, IMU, magnetometer, vision/LiDAR) and handle coordinate transforms (Euler, quaternions)
  • Create test plans, run hardware-in-the-loop and laboratory tests, and support verification/validation efforts
  • Document designs and integrate with MBSE workflows and configuration/tracking tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, test engineers) and maintain compliance with security requirements

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (required for this role)
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, and probability/stochastic processes
  • Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation
  • Experience programming in C++ (embedded) and Python (data analysis/prototyping)
  • Ability to process and visualize large datasets (NumPy, Pandas, MATLAB)
  • Good problem-solving skills and clear written/verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in a STEM discipline
  • Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
  • Experience with Jira and DOORS for requirements and issue tracking
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (CAMEO, SysML, MagicDraw)
  • Knowledge of Kalman filtering variants (EKF, UKF) and recursive estimation
  • Understanding of IMU mechanics and strapdown integration
  • Experience integrating heterogeneous sensors (GPS, IMU, magnetometers, vision/LiDAR)
  • Interest or experience in applying AI/ML tools to system development and prototyping

Location & Work Type

This role is full-time and requires 100% on-site work at a Confidential Client facility in the United States due to the classified/nature-of-work and collaboration requirements.
