Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Systems Engineer to join an engineering team focused on command-and-control (C2) integration and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) autonomy. This is an entry-level, full-time role that supports remote work (telecommute) and is based in Costa Mesa, CA. The role requires the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance and may require travel up to 25%.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, test, operations) to define system requirements and architectures
• Design, integrate, and maintain system components in complex C2 and UAS environments
• Support system-level testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities
• Document system designs, interfaces, and engineering processes
• Contribute to cross-team integration efforts and deployments in operational environments
• Participate in design reviews and continuously improve engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Physics, or related)
• Demonstrated ownership through internships, projects, or relevant coursework
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive, collaborative attitude
• Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (candidate must meet clearance eligibility requirements)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Hands-on experience with robotic or unmanned systems
• Familiarity with IP-based networks and networking concepts
• Knowledge of air vehicle subsystems, ground systems, or C2 systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range (USD): $100,000 — $145,000 per year (base salary only; final offer may vary based on experience, education, and business factors)
• Equity grants and a competitive benefits package may be included as part of total compensation

Location & Remote

• Primary location: Costa Mesa, CA (telecommute-eligible)
• Applicants should be able to work within the United States and travel up to 25% as required
