Entry-Level Structural Engineer — Role Overview

Confidential client is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join their civil and rail engineering team based in Pleasant View, TN. This full-time role supports structural design, drafting, field inspections and construction support for bridges, railroad structures, retaining walls and buildings. Target start no later than March 2026.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct engineering design under the supervision of experienced engineers.
• Produce calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic and final working drawings.
• Use computer-aided design tools (AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation as needed) for buildings, bridges, and rail structures.
• Organize and prepare technical reports, maps, drawings and test documentation to support project plans.
• Perform field work including bridge inspections, structural reviews, and construction inspection.
• Coordinate with project teams to meet schedule constraints and quality expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field with a concentration in structures.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability and willingness to perform field duties (bridge/site inspections, construction observation) as required.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation on engineering projects (railroad structures, highway bridges, retaining walls, buildings).
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet project schedules and work productively in a team setting.

Compensation

• Estimated pay (from source): $60,764 per year — estimated. Actual pay and benefits will be determined by the confidential client and may vary based on experience, credentials, and location.
